what to do next after downloading phpbb3?

Q. I am planning to build a site but I only know html. I have extracted phpbb3 and obviously it requires php. What am I going to do next? Should I download a php software too?

I know I have to learn php but I can learn it through tutorials online.

A. If you have paid hosting or a free hosting site that allows PHP, you will need to run it online using the phpbb3 Admin Panel. If you want to edit AND run php on your computer, then:

PHP:

* Run PHP on your own computer: The easiest way to do this is to install a complete package like XAMPP. This contains the Apache Web server, along with PHP and the MySQL database engine, in one easy-to-install package. XAMPP is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. (A popular alternative on Windows is WampServer.)
* Run your PHP scripts on your Web host: If you already have a Web hosting account that supports PHP then you can upload your PHP scripts via FTP and run them on the Web server. The advantage of this approach is that you don't have to install anything; the disadvantage is that it's slower to write and test your scripts.

Copy and paste the script code listed above into a new document in your text editor, then save the file as hello.php in the document root folder â that is, the top level of your website â on your hard drive. If you're not sure where your document root folder is then consult your Web server manual. Common locations include:

* XAMPP on Windows: C:/Program Files/xampp/htdocs/
* XAMPP on Linux: /opt/lampp/htdocs/
* XAMPP on Mac OS X: /Applications/XAMPP/htdocs/

If you want to run the script on your Web hosting account rather than your own computer then you'll need to upload the script using FTP instead.

Is there a way I can run my Seagate Go external hard drive on Windows Vista 64 bit OS?
Q. I have windows vista 64 bit. When i plug in my hard drive it says that my seagate does not support the 64 bit system. Is there anything I can do about it for example download an update or patch? Any help would be appreciated.

A. First of all, windows vista sucks, second o all, 64-bit OS's are the worst kind for support....

the only thing that you CAN do is change OS's the cheapest way (also my favourite) is linux, its free!

Tell me why I should ditch Microsoft Windows in favour of Linux?
Q. My desktop computer has windows XP installed. I have been thinking about wiping it and starting from scratch with a Linux operating system. Is this difficult to do? How much will it cost? What about drivers for my hardware?

A. No it is not difficult to migrate from XP to Linux...

Here is an answer to your question:

1. How much will it cost? - Nothing Linux is free until you go for Red Hat Linux or Fedora Linux these flavors are paid versions since they are commercial versions.

2. What about drivers for my hardware? - Do not worry if you have a branded PC then you go to the company website and go for downloading device drivers for linux OS and once you download all of them n burn it on a CD or store it USB pen drive.

And technically this is how you can transfer yourself from windows to linux:

Hope this helps!
