Q. The problem is quite simple actually. I have a folder in my desktop which I want to be able to upload to my server via SSH. I want to be able to do that using only the linux terminal. Thanks
I don't know about import/export functions. I just want to upload via SSH. I know it's possible, I just don't know how.

A. See the SCP command (syntax in source link). It copies files over ssh. As you can see, it has an option to put an entire folder over at once.
Alternatively, there's SFTP (secure-ftp) which tunnels a ftp connection through ssh (valid only if the target server also has ftp service in addition to ssh).

How to modify data on the linux terminal from java?
Q. I am creating a java software on linux ubuntu. I want to to open linux terminal from inside java, set commands to the terminal, execute the commands and then close the terminal. All these by clicking on a button in java. So in short, the user of my application will not need to know any linux commands. In fact my software consists of configuring linux ubuntu 12.04 as server from java.
I want to open the dhcpd.conf file and change its contents based on the user's input, such as changing the pool of ip address based on the user's choice. Any help on how I can do this please? Thank you
